In South Zealand, historic towns and idyllic villages are surrounded by rolling landscapes. There are countless opportunities for active outdoor experiences, including for anglers, sailors, cyclists, and hikers. The rich bird and wildlife in the region make a visit particularly interesting. The coastal areas are often forested, adding an extra dimension to a stay by the water.

Several bridges connect South Zealand with Falster and Møn, and the oldest of them, the Storstrøm Bridge, will be replaced by a new one in just a few years. In Vordingborg, you can watch the bridge construction progress and get more information at the visitor center. In Vordingborg, you’ll also find the impressive Castle Center, located on the ruins of one of the largest medieval royal castles – offering fun and exciting experiences!

Vordingborg has one of Denmark’s longest pedestrian streets, with a wide range of specialty shops, restaurants, and cafés.
